| The rules and regulations in using the Library are briefly as listed below. |

General Regulations |

a. |
Snacks and drinks are limited to the cafe area only. |

b. |
Handphones should be set to silent mode before entering the library. |
| |
c. |
Users of the Library should be formally and decently attired. |
| |
d. |
Reservation of a seat is not permitted as the number of seats available is limited. |
| |
e. |
Items found left behind in the Library may be claimed at the Information Desk. |
| |
NoteThe Library is not responsible for any damages and loss of personal belongings that are left unattended in the Library. |

ii. |
Membership Regulations |
| |
a. |
Students/staff/external members must display their cards upon entering the AEU Library. |
| |
b. |
Library membership privileges are not transferable. Please do not allow others to use your cards for any of the Library transactions. |
| |
c. |
Please report loss of membership to the AEU Library. |
| |

iii. |
Computer Workstation |
| |
a. |
Accessing undesirable Internet sites and downloading, emailing, printing and circulating undesirable materials are strictly prohibited. |

b. |
Installing or customizing any computer programmes in the Library’s computers is also strictly prohibited. |
| |
c. |
Reservation of computer terminals is not permitted since the number of terminals available is limited. |

Borrowing/Returning/Renewing |
| |
a. |
Each user is responsible for every item he borrows. |
| |
b. |
Users must ensure books borrowed are listed correctly in their account upon borrowing. |
| |
c. |
Users must ensure books returned are correctly charged-out in patron account upon returning. |
| |
d. |
AeU staffs who resign or on long leave (more than 3 months) please return all materials borrowed from the library. |
| |
e. |
Students who withdraw, discontinue or have completed courses at AEU must return all borrowed materials to the library. Students who fail to clear any fines or return materials borrowed from the library on completion of their courses will have their transcripts held back. Finance Division will deduct the amount from student’s deposit. |
